Anya Taylor-Joy's Dior Wedding Dress Is a Dream for Whimsigoth Brides Everywhere

Anya Taylor-Joy married musician Malcolm McRae in a lavish ceremony in Venice, Italy, over the weekend.

The Queen’s Gambit actor put her own whimsigoth spin on bridal fashion in a dreamy beige princess dress, custom-made by Dior. The gown was embroidered with illustrations of birds and flowers in dark gray hues, and styled with a bright white veil. Her dark pixie makeup contrasted her bleach-blonde hair, which was styled in a half-up ’do, with wavy strands framing her face.

Celebrity guests at the fete included model Cara Delevingne and actor Julia Garner. Both got the goth-chic memo, with Delevingne showing out in a black pinstripe three-piece suit and Garner making an entrance in a black velvet gown with a colorful bead-embellished Art Deco–esque skirt.

The Great’s Nicholas Hoult was also there with partner Bryana Holly. And about 150 other stars, friends, and loved ones joined in the festivities.

Photos from the weekend, which you can see here, also show Taylor-Joy looking lovely in a silky white robe before the ceremony. She was also photographed getting into a water taxi in a black spaghetti-strap top and tan miniskirt.

Malcolm McRae and Anya Taylor-Joy

Though the wedding festivities kicked off just this past weekend, Taylor-Joy and McRae reportedly married over a year ago. In July 2022, Page Six reported that the nuptials took place somewhere in the United States before the pair flew off to Australia so that the actor could continue filming Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road.
